In the Yoba school yoghurt program, children in pre-primary and primary schools consume probiotic yoghurt through a commercially sustainable model, whereby the parents bear the cost of the yoghurt through an increase of the school fees, which the school direction allocates to the purchase of the Yoba yoghurt. The program helps to provide a market for local Yoba producers and contributes to improving the health of young children.

In 2016 Yoba for Life, Western Heads East and Heifer International successfully applied for a grant from the Canadian International Food Security Research Fund (CIFSRF) that was part of an IDRC program initiated with the financial support of the Ministry of Global Affairs Canada. >
PRODUCT LOCATER
Kwanzaa Milk is the one of the most unique producer from Mwanza, the second large city in Tanzania. They produces natural probiotic yoghurt made by our Yoba culture. They don’t use any machines but they have the right knowledge to make perfect yoghurt which everyone loves. The ingredients are all natural and instead of the chemical stabilizer, they are using seaweed. You can get their products at their outlet store in Kijiji Bar and Grill, a cosy square in the middle of the town where you can order some good foods and drinks as well. However their main target is the kids on the schools. Those kids on the school feeding program are always super excited to get their probiotic yoghurt. For the yoghurt for the kids, they also add some sweet potato flour in it, for an additional vitamine A which can guarantee the benefit for their health. And they love it!
It’s great to see our Yoba is supporting the future of kids in Mwanza! Keep going!!! ... See MoreSee Less
