Improved Nutrition and Health through the School Feeding Program- Busoga, Uganda

Time frame: Jan 2025 – Dec 2027
Total Budget: GBP 80,000

In December 2024, the Yoba for Life Foundation received a grant from the Waterloo Foundation to supplement funding from the INCLUDE project, a larger SNV-led initiative supported by the Royal Netherlands Embassy. The 2 year project aims to reduce micro nutrient deficiencies among school children in the Busoga region, Uganda, by incorporating probiotic yoghurt into school feeding programs.

INCLUDE uses Participatory Integrated Planning (PIP) methods to strengthen dairy production through establishing Community Marketing Groups (CMG’S) in partnership with Yoba to improve milk aggregation and develop a sustainable market. The project also advocates for policies that ensure the long term inclusion of probiotic yoghurt in school nutrition programs. The aim is to improve children’s health while strengthening local dairy economies.
