Enhancing Market Access for Youth-Led Yoghurt Enterprises through the School Yoghurt Feeding Program – Bushenyi and Ntungamo, Uganda

Time frame: May 2025 – September 2025
Total Budget: EUR 25,190

In May 2025, the Yoba for Life Foundation launched a five-month pilot initiative funded by Ripple Effect through the YiDAMS project. The initiative aims to enhance the business performance of nine youth-led dairy hubs in the Bushenyi and Ntungamo districts of Uganda by linking them to school yoghurt feeding programs.

Through this project, 9 hubs are connected to 25 primary and secondary schools, enabling the weekly supply of probiotic yoghurt to 5,000 pupils. The program not only improves child nutrition but also strengthens local youth enterprises. In total, over 270 jobs are supported, including 20 improved and 10 new jobs per mini-incubation hub. The project also supports certification of strawberry and vanilla yoghurt flavors by helping hubs meet UNBS quality and safety standards.
